Look out! You're getting
in your own way!!

With the start of every new year, we singles want to do some things differently. We want our life to change. Many of us know we're stuck in a rut, but we're not sure what to do about it. We don't even know where to start.

For me, change usually begins with looking in the mirror. It's not that I need to lose weight, although that wouldn't hurt. The painful truth is I'm usually getting in my own way as far as progress goes.

The good news is that we have more control over ourselves than we do over other people. Take a look at how you might be your own worst enemy…

Which way?

It's a land of distraction.
Voices shout from the crowd.
They're all pushing their agendas,
and the noise is getting loud.

So you stand on the sidelines,
while you're watching the show.
You must make a decision.
Which way will you go?

Which way will you go,
when the time comes to choose?
Which path will you travel
if you don't want to lose?
It's all so confusing,
wondering how can you know.
Which road is the right one?
Which way will you go?

There's a path you can follow,
it's not easy or straight.
But you better get started,
For the hour's getting late.

Take this Book along with you,
so you always will know
the next step to take
and the way you should go.

Which way will you go,
when the time comes to choose?
Which path will you travel
if you don't want to lose?
It's all so confusing,
wondering how can you know.
Which road is the right one?
Which way will you go?

Punch loneliness in the nose in 2011!

Arrghh! Loneliness! Sometimes you get so tired of it you could just punch it out--if it had a nose.

Rather than get violent, get my ebook, Outsmarting Loneliness.

You'll learn the true causes of loneliness and positive, practical, doable ways of beating it. The nice thing about this ebook is that it gives you simple, progressive steps. Get comfortable with one, then ease into the next. Build your confidence, then reach out some more. Yep, you can do this.

And no, you won't need to get one of those sleazy title loans to afford it, either. Only $7.97 USD. Get the pain-free details here…

January Quotapalooza

January's quotation comes from St. Francis de Sales, the Catholic patron saint of writers, and author of The Devout Life:

Have patience with all things, but chiefly have patience with yourself. Do not lose courage in considering your own imperfections, but instantly start remedying them - every day begin the task anew.
Saint Francis de Sales (1567-1622)

As we try, with God's help, to grow in our Christian faith, we cannot become discouraged with our slow progress. We may work toward remedying our imperfections, as Francis said, but we also must accept ourselves in the same loving way God accepts us.

In the coming year, make it your mission to lovingly improve yourself, without getting caught up in needless guilt over the past. Forgiven means forgiven.

A New Year's f'reebie

Here's a neat little plaque you can fit into a 5" x 7" frame from the dollar store.

It's a happy reminder that your best effort is good enough for God. And you know the cool part? It's f'ree--my favorite price. All you need is your computer printer and a pair of scissors.

To get this little gem, check it out…

Oops! In the Christmas issue of Inspire-O-Gram, I forgot to include our non-itchy contact form. Even so, a few intrepid singletons emailed me Christmas greetings. Thanks!

My prayer for all of you is that in 2011, you grow in your faith in God and that you get an even clearer knowledge of just how much He loves you. Follow his ways this year and He will lead you to great things!

Until February,

Jack Zavada
